Saved documentation for GrigTasks 0.1. Read the latest version

Release 0.1 — 9 November 2026. Release preparation is in progress.

From an idea to accepted work

The Tasks page includes a project selector, title search, stage and assignee filters, and personal views. The list and kanban board show the same tasks. The list helps you inspect details, while the board shows how work is distributed across stages.

The default process

To do → In progress → In review → Done

The assignee explicitly starts work and submits the result for review. A member with review permission accepts it or sends it back to In progress.

Default roles allow the task author or a manager to review work, alongside the owner and deputies. The owner can change role permissions. Permission to submit work for review does not itself grant permission to accept it.

Cancellation and reopening completed or cancelled tasks are also planned. The example shows the main process and reopening.

Try it

Try search, list and board views, and stage and assignee filters. Then open a card. In this example you act as the owner and can follow the whole process. “Reset” restores the six initial tasks.

Move taskSample task

Inside a task

  • Title and Markdown description.
  • Author, one assignee, co-assignees and observers.
  • Due date and low, normal or high priority.
  • Tags, a checklist, discussion and mentions.
  • Files and a parent task within the same project.

Attachments are available through the tracker’s own web interface and API. The GrigDesk driver has a different scope.

Configure the process

A member with workflow management permission can add stages and specify allowed transitions. Moving a card requests a transition checked by the server. An occupied stage cannot be deleted without moving its tasks.

A change on screen is not yet server confirmation. Sending status is displayed separately. Read about poor connectivity.
